10 Effective Ways To Reduce Your Business Costs- Finance Tips

1. Barter
If you have a business you should be bartering goods
and services with other businesses. You should try to
trade for something before you buy it. Barter deals
usually require little or no money.

2. Network
Try networking your business with other businesses.
You could trade leads or mailing lists. This will cut
down on your marketing and advertising costs. You
may also try bartering goods and services with them.

3. Wholesale/Bulk
You'll save money buying your business supplies in
bulk quantities. You could get a membership at a
wholesale warehouse or buy them through a mail
order wholesaler. Buy the supplies you are always
running out of.

4. Free Stuff
You should try visiting the thousands of freebie sites
on the internet before buying your business supplies.
You can find free software, graphics, backgrounds,
online business services etc.

5. Borrow/Rent
Have you ever purchased business equipment you
only needed for a small period of time? You could
have just borrowed the equipment from someone
else or rented the equipment from a "rent-all" store.

6. Online/Offline Auctions
You can find lower prices on business supplies and
equipment at online and offline auctions. I'm not
saying all the time, but before you go pay retail for
these items try bidding on them first.

7. Plan Ahead
Make a list of business supplies or equipment you'll
need in the future. Keep an eye out for stores that
have big sales. Purchase the supplies when they go
on sale before you need them.

8. Used Stuff
If your business equipment and supplies don't need
to be new, buy them used. You can find used items
at yard and garage sales, used stores, used stuff
for sale message boards and newsgroups etc.

9. Negotiate
You should always try negotiate a lower price for
any business equipment or supplies. It doesn't hurt
to try. Pretend you are talking to a salesman at a car
lot.

10. Search
You can always be searching for new suppliers for
your business supplies and equipment. Look for
suppliers with lower prices and better quality. Don't
just be satisfied with a few.

Investment Banking

Investment banking is a type of financial service that focuses on helping companies acquire funds and grow their portfolios. Much of this comes in the form of stock and bonds transfer, but investment capital and wholesale corporate acquisitions are also part of the equation. Bankers within this sector are usually highly trained, and are widely recognized as some of the most elite participants in the financial marketplace. They are often sought as much for their consulting and advising services as they are for actually executing transactions.

Consulting Services

Investment bankers frequently give companies advice on mergers and acquisitions. They also track the market in order to help executive officers determine when to make public offerings and how best to manage public assets. Some of the consultative activities investment banking firms engage in overlap with those of private brokerages which often give buy-and-sell advice to the companies they represent. Investment banking is typically a much more nuanced service, but many of the basic strategies are the same.

Transactions and Purchases

Most of the consultants and specialists working within investment bank firms are able to actually execute transactions on behalf of clients, as well. Many large companies simply want the advice, and will then make their own decisions in-house. Particularly for small businesses and companies without robust financial services divisions, however, hiring an outside consultant to manage investment decisions can make a lot of sense.

Ad
Benefits for Both Buyers and Sellers

When done properly, investment banking has the potential to benefit both those who are selling corporate acquisitions and those who are buying. Asset sales generate substantial revenues that companies can use to front new products, promote existing brands, or invest in research and development. Breaking into business typically requires a lot of money upfront before any profits are realized, but once those benefits come, primary investors usually profit substantially.

Distinction Between Commercial and Investment Banking

Commercial banking — that is, basic account management, loans, and standard investments like certificates of deposit — are typically kept separate from corporate investment activities, and many banks engage in but one area. In the United States, it was illegal for a bank to have both commercial and investment divisions until 1999, when the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act legalized multiple areas of specialty. Institutions that offer dual services usually do so through different branches and staffs, and accounts are usually maintained separately.

Breaking Into the Field

Investment banking is often one of the most lucrative and sought-after jobs in finance, but with this prestige comes great responsibility. Most of the professionals in this field have extensive training. A college degree in finance or accounting is almost always required, and graduate degrees — particularly in business, corporate finance, or financial management — are quite common.

Career Prospects and Growth Potential

Investment bankers typically enjoy a great deal of job security. Corporations of all sizes and maturity levels can make use of investment banking services, and there is almost always a market for these skills. Entry-level workers almost always have wide horizons for growth and promotion.

Start Your Online Business and Be an Enterpreneur

Last week, we talked about what search engine optimization is and why you – as a

small business owner – should care. But that said, knowing what SEO is pretty

different from knowing how to implement this science on your own website!

Now, what you need to keep in mind is that SEO can be complex. Companies like

Google and Microsoft employ some of the smartest scientists and mathematicians to

make their algorithms as effective as possible. If you dig too deeply into the

recommendations made by SEO strategists, you’re bound to feel overwhelmed.

So instead of stressing yourself out, start with any of the following seven SEO

techniques. All of them can be easily implemented whenever you have a spare hour,

making proper website optimization an attainable goal for even the “non-techiest”

of small business owners.

Technique #1 – Optimize your title tags

Every page on your website should have its own unique title tag. However, not all

title tags are created equally!

From an SEO perspective, a good title tag should:

Be no more than 70 characters (including spaces)
Include both product- or service-related keywords and your company’s brand name
Be both intriguing and informative enough to prompt search engine users to click

through to your page (as title tags are typically used in the snipped displayed in

the natural search results)
To see what this all looks like in real life, let’s look at a hypothetical example

of how this and the following SEO techniques could be put into practice…

Suppose you run an auto body shop in San Francisco, CA. You’ve recently launched a

new website which includes a page on your current specials. After conducting your

keyword research, you’ve decided to target the phrase “auto body coupon,” along

with location modifiers that put your website in front of consumers in your city.

In addition, as you’re crafting your title tags, avoid “keyword stuffing” these

important fields. Title tags that are no more than a string of all your website’s

target keywords (in this example, something like “Auto Body Coupons, Auto Body

Discounts, Auto Body Savings”) frustrate visitors and can lead to over-

optimization penalties by the search engines.

Technique #2 – Create compelling meta descriptions

Along with your title tags, the section of every page on your website should

contain a customized meta description. These brief page summaries should be no

more than 150-160 characters long and should include at least one mention of your

page’s target keyword phrase.

Following our previous example, your meta description could read something like

this:

“Need quality auto body repair work done at a discount price? Check out the latest

auto body coupon codes from Frank's Auto of San Francisco, CA.”

While meta descriptions don’t hold nearly the SEO weight that they used to, their

presence in the snippets found on search engine results pages plays an important

role in your site’s overall click-through rate (CTR). By writing your meta

descriptions in a way that captures search users’ attention, you’ll increase the

number of visitors who choose to click on your listing compared to your

competitors’.

Technique #3 – Utilize keyword-rich headings

Both the title tag and meta description should be included in the section of every

page on your website – but what about the rest of your page’s content?

When it comes to your pages’ body text, one of the best things you can do to

improve your overall SEO value is to include <h2> and heading tags containing your

target keyword phrases in your content. Not only do the search engines place added

weight on the words found in these particular tags, the visual relief they provide

to your website’s readers will help them to move more efficiently through your

site’s content.

Technique #4 – Add ALT tags to your images

If you choose to add images to your web pages, make sure to add ALT tags to them

as well.

ALT tags originally came about to provide visually impaired website visitors using

text-to-speech devises with additional information about the content on their

screens. And though this initial purpose is still valid, the content found in

these fields is also important when it comes to SEO.

Again, you shouldn’t “stuff” your ALT tag full of target keywords and keyword

variations. Instead, use your ALT tags to clearly and accurately describe your

website’s images, working in keyword phrases as they occur naturally.

Technique #5 – Create a sitemap

In the world of SEO, the search engines’ indexing programs – commonly referred to

as “spiders” – play the important role of analyzing new websites (or new content

added to existing websites) and adding their content to the lists of pages that

can be displayed in response to user queries.

As a result, facilitating the easy movement of these spider programs throughout

your own site is an important part of optimizing your content for natural search

traffic.

One of the best things you can do to help the spiders index your website is to

create a sitemap – a page listing links to all the other pages on your site. There

are plenty of different automated tools that can generate these important pages

for you, though you can always create a sitemap by hand if your site is small.

Technique #6 – Build internal links between pages

Another way to help the search engine spiders to catalogue all of your site’s

pages is to create internal links that connect your different pieces of content.

As an example, instead of simply linking to your “Contact” or “About Us” page from

your navigation bar, consider adding text links to these pages from within the

body content found on your home page. Doing so is a great way to help your

visitors find the information they’re looking for, in addition to providing a

major SEO boost to your site’s content.

Technique #7 – Update your site regularly

One final SEO technique you’ll want to implement is to update your site

periodically. Because the search engines’ top priority is serving up the results

that will best meet their users’ needs, they prefer to share websites that contain

the latest, most up-to-date information. In addition, the more content you post to

your site, the more keywords your website will include – increasing your odds of

generating search engine traffic.

The easiest way to make regular updating a part of your SEO strategy is to create

a company blog or news section. Either one of these tools will help you to connect

with your readers, while also appeasing the search engines’ desire for fresh

content.

Unfortunately, implementing these seven basic SEO techniques on your website alone

isn’t enough to guarantee that your site will reach the coveted top spot in the

search engine results pages for your chosen keyword phrases overnight.

Realistically, SEO is a process that takes time to deliver results – though many

new webmasters find this frustrating.

Instead of getting overwhelmed by the number of different SEO techniques out

there, start with these seven basics. Over time and with continued commitment to

pleasing both your readers and the search engines, you will start to see results!

Features of Foreign Exchange Market

Foreign exchange market is the market where the currency of one country is exchanged for the currency of another country. In other words it is a market where currencies are bought and sold just like equity shares are bought and sold in equity markets. Given below are some of the main features of foreign exchange market –

1. Foreign exchange market is the only market which is open 24 hours a day, except for weekends unlike equity or commodities market which are open only for few hours.
2. Volume of transactions which are executed in foreign exchange market is extremely huge because of many big players in foreign exchange market. Foreign exchange markets are more liquid than any other market because of this reason.

3. Foreign Exchange Market are present in every country and therefore geographically they are located everywhere in the world, which makes them quite unique.
4. Foreign exchange markets are the most difficult market to trade in as the exchange rates of countries are affected by so many factors like interest rates, liquidity, geo political factor and so on.
5. Foreign exchange market is a big player market, because mostly it is the big banks and government who are the players in foreign exchange market.

Best Enterpreneur Ideas

I have always been impressed with those whose entrepreneur ideas seem to come from their business savvy. What is it that gives an entrepreneur ideas?

"What do the most successful businesses do differently than mediocre ones? They see the big picture. They see things differently and do different things. They connect the unconnected, challenge the conventions, look for new opportunities, and are not afraid to try new ideas. They are inspired businesses, with a sense of "genius" about them."

We often like to look to those who have successful entrepreneur ideas. We have a need to see how and what they have done that we might be able to work into our business routine and life.

Okay - so none of this meant anything to me - just words. Until, I started living through what others talk about - I had to have my struggles, become inspired and find my own business savvy, get my own entrepreneur ideas. And, I needed to pay attention and grow into my own business savvy.
I would like to hear what has inspired you to grow and what your experiences are.

What is your business savvy?
We all know that entrepreneurs and small business owners are the ambitious kind. We gain business experience that converts into a working knowledge of how we manage our entrepreneur ideas, marketing, and other parts of our business.

And our entrepreneur ideas start with, well - what do you think?
I have heard that this starts with education. But, I disagree with that a bit. For me it started with wanting the skills to get the knowledge I needed to succeed. So that may be ambition, then. Hope, faith, and a drive to succeed guided me to get the education and coaching I needed to keep moving ahead.

Then came the entrepreneur ideas. The business savvy.
Business savvy and entrepreneur ideas may not make you into a millionaire. But, I have found it is necessary to take your business and demonstrate some of that basic "common sense" as it relates to business.
You could really say your business is driven by giving customers what they want, giving them solutions, and making them happy enough to come back for more.

That is really what business savvy is and great entrepreneur ideas are.
I had to get business savvy, before I found any entrepreneur ideas. I had to understand how to help my customers. These customers were, and are, the center of my business universe.

So...What does your business do differently than your competition, that shows your own business savvy, and entrepreneur ideas at work? What makes your business shine like 'Rock Star'?

Working with a business coach and/or entrepreneur coach, that is one of the major areas you will find help with - finding your business savvy and then going with your ideas.

Forex Tutorial: Fundamental Analysis & Fundamentals Trading Strategies

In the equities market, fundamental analysis looks to measure a company's true value and to base investments upon this type of calculation. To some extent, the same is done in the retail forex market, where forex fundamental traders evaluate currencies, and their countries, like companies and use economic announcements to gain an idea of the currency's true value.

All of the news reports, economic data and political events that come out about a country are similar to news that comes out about a stock in that it is used by investors to gain an idea of value. This value changes over time due to many factors, including economic growth and financial strength. Fundamental traders look at all of this information to evaluate a country's currency.

Given that there are practically unlimited forex fundamentals trading strategies based on fundamental data, one could write a book on this subject. To give you a better idea of a tangible trading opportunity, let's go over one of the most well-known situations, the forex carry trade. (To read some frequently asked questions about currency trading, see Common Questions About Currency Trading.)

A Breakdown of the Forex Carry Trade
The currency carry trade is a strategy in which a trader sells a currency that is offering lower interest rates and purchases a currency that offers a higher interest rate. In other words, you borrow at a low rate, and then lend at a higher rate. The trader using the strategy captures the difference between the two rates. When highly leveraging the trade, even a small difference between two rates can make the trade highly profitable. Along with capturing the rate difference, investors also will often see the value of the higher currency rise as money flows into the higher-yielding currency, which bids up its value.

Real-life examples of a yen carry trade can be found starting in 1999, when Japan decreased its interest rates to almost zero. Investors would capitalize upon these lower interest rates and borrow a large sum of Japanese yen. The borrowed yen is then converted into U.S. dollars, which are used to buy U.S. Treasury bonds with yields and coupons at around 4.5-5%. Since the Japanese interest rate was essentially zero, the investor would be paying next to nothing to borrow the Japanese yen and earn almost all the yield on his or her U.S. Treasury bonds. But with leverage, you can greatly increase the return.

For example, 10 times leverage would create a return of 30% on a 3% yield. If you have $1,000 in your account and have access to 10 times leverage, you will control $10,000. If you implement the currency carry trade from the example above, you will earn 3% per year. At the end of the year, your $10,000 investment would equal $10,300, or a $300 gain. Because you only invested $1,000 of your own money, your real return would be 30% ($300/$1,000). However this strategy only works if the currency pair's value remains unchanged or appreciates. Therefore, most forex carry traders look not only to earn the interest rate differential, but also capital appreciation. While we've greatly simplified this transaction, the key thing to remember here is that a small difference in interest rates can result in huge gains when leverage is applied. Most currency brokers require a minimum margin to earn interest for carry trades.

However, this transaction is complicated by changes to the exchange rate between the two countries. If the lower-yielding currency appreciates against the higher-yielding currency, the gain earned between the two yields could be eliminated. The major reason that this can happen is that the risks of the higher-yielding currency are too much for investors, so they choose to invest in the lower-yielding, safer currency. Because carry trades are longer term in nature, they are susceptible to a variety of changes over time, such as rising rates in the lower-yielding currency, which attracts more investors and can lead to currency appreciation, diminishing the returns of the carry trade. This makes the future direction of the currency pair just as important as the interest rate differential itself. (To read more about currency pairs, see Using Currency Correlations To Your Advantage, Making Sense Of The Euro/Swiss Franc Relationship and Forces Behind Exchange Rates.)

To clarify this further, imagine that the interest rate in the U.S. was 5%, while the same interest rate in Russia was 10%, providing a carry trade opportunity for traders to short the U.S. dollar and to long the Russian ruble. Assume the trader borrows $1,000 US at 5% for a year and converts it into Russian rubles at a rate of 25 USD/RUB (25,000 rubles), investing the proceeds for a year. Assuming no currency changes, the 25,000 rubles grows to 27,500 and, if converted back to U.S. dollars, will be worth $1,100 US. But because the trader borrowed $1,000 US at 5%, he or she owes $1,050 US, making the net proceeds of the trade only $50.

However, imagine that there was another crisis in Russia, such as the one that was seen in 1998 when the Russian government defaulted on its debt and there was large currency devaluation in Russia as market participants sold off their Russian currency positions. If, at the end of the year the exchange rate was 50 USD/RUB, your 27,500 rubles would now convert into only $550 US (27,500 RUB x 0.02 RUB/USD). Because the trader owes $1,050 US, he or she will have lost a significant percentage of the original investment on this carry trade because of the currency's fluctuation - even though the interest rates in Russia were higher than the U.S.

Another good example of  forex  fundamental analysis is based on commodity prices.

You should now have an idea of some of the basic economic and fundamental ideas that underlie the forex and impact the movement of currencies. The most important thing that should be taken away from this section is that currencies and countries, like companies, are constantly changing in value based on fundamental factors such as economic growth and interest rates. You should also, based on the economic theories mentioned above, have an idea how certain economic factors impact a country's currency. We will now move on to technical analysis, the other school of analysis that can be used to pick trades in the forex market.

Forex Fundamental Analysis

Fundamental analysis is the interpretation of statistical reports and economic indicators. Things like changes in interest rates, employment reports, and the latest inflation indicators all fall into the realm of fundamental analysis.

Forex traders must pay close attention to economic indicators which can have a direct – and to some degree, predictable – effect on the value of a nation's currency in the Forex  market.

Given the impact these indicators can have on exchange rates, it is important to know beforehand when they are due for release. It is also likely that exchange rate spreads will widen during the time leading up to the release of an important indicator and this could add considerably to the cost of your trade.

Therefore, you should regularly consult an economic calendar which lists the release date and time for each indicator.
